#Lijiang
[Day 17 M]
-> We took a bus because trains are to troublesome to grab tickets etc

We arrived in Lijiang by bus from Dali.

A small shop that was selling hats and CDs. We bought a bunch of CDs some really nice singing. Too bad recording quality was low :(

They had ran out of dragon flys! we wanted to try them :(
We got hotpot :)

Dinner!

We would take a van to our starting point along the tiger leaping gorge hike.

The China Chronicles Day 15 & 16 - Dali P2 & Erhai Lake & Cangshan Mountains - Photo

[Day 15 S]
-> Lets ride around Erhai! After getting extremely lost we made it to the other side or Erhai and hired some bikes

That restaurant we ate at. Open kitchen, much?

From dried penis to mushrooms bigger than a basketball. Horns of all kinds. I swear this was some herbal travelling medicine market.

One thing i had to try around china was pancake. It was my benchmark. They weren't too bad.

We set off for Erhai. I have no idea what we did or how we did it. We took a bus, it stopped in the middle of nowhere. We then took some trike/tuk tuk after working for an hour

This tuktuk took us to the other side or Erhai. From here we walked and stumbled across a bicycle shop. We managed to hire bikes and go for a ride around part of Erhai. Erhai is HUGE. I would imagine it would take a day or two to navigate around

Straining?

We were dying. The long walk and heat. Some fruits to refresh.

Stopping for lunch? lol. No idea what we ordered. Jordan managed to order us some cabbage. There was no meat, we ended up with the spicy mini crayfish things. That you eat whole. Head, claws and all.

After lunch we continued our bike ride.

After the bike ride we proceeded back. We took a taxi that dropped us again in the middle of no where.
Some how we caught a bus that dropped us near Dali.  We then started walking and ended up walking into the city.

We had a very interesting day journey. No idea how was went and returned. Thanks to Jordan and his bit of Chinese. We returned safety

VB in the middle of no where. Jordan's backpackers.

Trying something different for dinner haha. Pizza it is.

Pizza in Dali.

[Day 16 S]
-> Loved Dali so much so we stayed another day
-> Took some horses up the mountain 'Cangshan' then hiked a 'Cloudy Tourist Road' to an epic pool of crystal blue waters 'Seven Dragon Maidens Pond'
-> Said bye to Jessica and moved to Lijiang

Can you see our lunch running around? We didn't want to wait for chicken so we had cup noodles.

Pretty steep climb. My friend slipped. I ran down to help him

This was also one trip I had no idea how we ended up on. We wanted to go up the mountain but heard you have to pay entry. So somehow we got horses up the mountain? The horses go up a back trail so we dont have to pay lol. Dodgy or what?

It was unreal the climb. I think you would struggle on foot climbing up the steep rocky roads. But these mini horses made it. I think they were more like donkeys.

Had some of the best skys in Dali. So blue!
Jessica was a street artists. We bought her postcards.

#Dali
[Day 14 F]
-> Exploring Dali after we spent the night sleeping on the Sofa due to our accommodation being closed :( at 1am when we arrived
-> Checked out some old school medicine market and the Old City of Dali

Street breakfast in Dali. Don't ask me what it was LOL.  The floor of the restaurant was sand.
I believe this was some form of travelling markets.
They were selling all kinds of things.

Dyed chickens, in the street markets.

I really wanted to buy these Tibetan style lights. But the girl said they were $100AU. I was shocked!

Some temple/castle wall in Dali.

Medicine market thing I mentioned earlier. They were cooking up meat on a stick

A strange house we found in the middle of no where.

Inside the gloomy house, in the hills of Dali.

Some fruit pancake thingy. No idea the name but it was amazing. We bought one and when we tasted it, we instantly wanted another.

We had steam boat at the guest house for dinner, get to know some new people.

This is our guest house in Dali, Old City. I believe the name was five elements.
It was quiet nice. I liked it.
