The China Chronicles Day 3,4 & 5 - Jiuzhaiguo/Peacock Lake - Mobile Photo Edition

#Jiuzhaiguo
[Day 3 M, 4 T and 5 W]
-> Travel to Jiuzhaigou [1 of 3 days]
-> Jiuzhaiguo [1 of 3 days]
-> Tibet Minority Villages [1 of 3 days]

No seats on the bus ;)

Our ticket and map ^_^

The reason to visit Jiuzhaiguo is that some people believe with global warming is will be a thing of the past.
Every year the water is lower and lower.

I couldn't believe how busy it was @_@ It was due to some Chinese holiday.

We had dinner with the locals. It was some Tibet bbq? Very interesting and unique flavours.
Yaks butter tea, bone marrow soup, spicy lamb and a range of vegetables. I wasn't to sure what half the stuff was.

Only way to dry our clothes ^_^

I believe the flags have written scripture on them. They are prayer flags according to wiki

Yak Jerky - Expensive but delicious ^_^ worth trying

I believe we were stuck in a traffic jam for a couple hours. It looked like some truck lost its brakes and rolled back into another track which then rolled into another @_@

a friend recommended this Cafe in Chengdu. As you can't find a proper coffee in China.

More local snacks >>

<< White flowers

I didn't realise we were so high, I believe in excess of 3500M. The snow had covered everything over night. It was beautiful. We were originally going to stop in Songpan to do a horse trek but we thought we should carry on and explore more of China rather than getting stuck in Sichuan.
