ͼͽThe First Steps into VNͼͽ
So we arrived...Warm/Humid but dam clean airport.  Kids running around cleaning the floors...So clean!
I didn't know but my friend organised a family friend to take us in his mini bus...He owns some kind of mini bus company...Well self employed and drives  people around I believe.
We then later hired him to take us to the border of Cambo and VN. Sweet trip.
Everything was so different in VN.  Nothing like Sing/KL or Australia.
My mate and I were shooting everything!

Noticed a familiar brand ;)
This is about 3/10 on my traffic scale.  At one point we couldn't cross the road there was so many scooters and they were touching wheel to wheel so couldn't squeeze through.
I took so many photos but i won't bore you.
I shall make a video one day @_@
We went straight to some random hotel my mate got us. $25US a night i think it was...

The rooms has a double and a single bed.  Plenty!
It was called NAM HY Hotel.
Address: 135/137/139 Huynh Man Dat St, Ward 7, Dist 5
Email: namhyhotel@yahoo.com
Website: www.namhyhotel.com.vn
Tel: (84.8) 38 38 34 37 - 39 23 32 42
I will upload all my business cards i gathered later. I do have it for this place. Didn't look like much being in the bronx. But quickly become home...And we were the only white people we could see in D5. Makes for fun times drinking at local street vendors.
But to my surprise we didn't get bothered. Everyone went on there daily life as we weren't there. Even in the internet cafe full of kids that helped us operate the Vietnamese computers and games haha...
But in D1 and especially Cambodia we would have people coming up to us @_@
D5 was gold. Just went and did our own thing.
From our 1-2 star hotel roof top!

At night as scooter gangs go up n down the streets with cops chasing them. Funny to watch but these gangs must get up to 100+ people!

See above a local place about 10mins walk from us. It a shopping centre with a hotel on top.
It also has a YumCha restaurant and jewelery booths down stairs...Jewelery booths is where you exchange money lol The below photo is from the sky deck i call it.  It the hotel restaurant and its pretty dam tall and looks all over D5.
Wish I had a fisheye or something to capture it!

Something else not common for us Australian and that is the electrical work :)
Lot more photos i could go on and on.
See here VN Flickr Album>>>
